Registration
All game officials must register for the season. Please use the link to the right - Umpire and Technical Officials Registration 2025.
Umpires Draw
Umpires are required to complete an Umpires Time Request Registration form. Please use the link to the right - Umpire Time Request Form 2025.
We would appreciate it if you could please set your availability at least two weeks in advance at all times.
Your qualification / level will depend on the days you are assigned games.
Monday:
- Premier 1 Grade games will start at 6:30 PM and 8:05 PM at Ngā Puna Wai.
- Qualification level required: NZ Badge and some NZ Theory holders.
- Challenge grade games will commence at either 6:30 PM, 7:30 PM or 8.30 PM at Ngā Puna Wai.
- Qualification level required: Centre Award or above.
Wednesday:
- Open Grade games will start at 6:30 PM, 7:30 PM, and 8:30 PM at Ngā Puna Wai.
- If you're available on this night and eager to contribute additional umpiring support, we would greatly appreciate Centre Umpires and above assistance.
Saturday at the Netball Sports Centre:
- Premier 2 games down to U15
- Games will run from 8:30 AM to approximately 7:30 PM.
- All CNC umpires will be allocated games on Saturdays based on Qualifications and Availability.
- Important Note - Premier 2 Qualification level required: NZ Badge and some NZ Theory holders.
Saturday at Hagley Netball Courts:
Open Grade
- Games are 12:00pm and 1:00pm only
PLEASE NOTE: If you are a Christchurch Netball Umpire on the NZ Qualification track, you will be expected to umpire at least two games per week.If you are also a Club Umpire, you will umpire one game for Christchurch Netball, and one game for your club.
On a Saturday, if you select multiple times on a day, we will endeavor to allocate games as close together as possible.
We would encourage all umpires available on a Saturday to provide as many available times as possible. This will allow us to assign you different level games and games that work around your other commitments - for example Coaching / Playing.
All appointments will then be emailed out through AppointMe. This year there will be no option to accept or decline, allocations will be based on the times provided by you if there are any issues please contact Quinn on umpires@cnc.org.nz.

Club Umpiring Allocations/Club Umpires

YoYo testing
All NZ umpires wishing to be appointed to NNZ tournaments must be tested.
NZ umpires who need to reassess must do a YoYo test.
Zone umpires who wish to be considered for a NZ Badge must have been tested.
Please take advantage of these opportunities as they are advertised. There is no charge for CNC Umpires.

All umpires wishing to be appointed to NNZ events must provide current Yo-yo Test results in accordance with the table above. Current means within two weeks of the fitness testing deadline.

Opportunities for Umpire Advancement | Examinations
New Umpire and Player Module
All players in Premier Senior, Senior Reserve, Challenge Grade, and Open League teams will be required to sit and pass the Netball New Zealand Learning to Umpire 2025 module prior to the first competition game unless they hold a current umpire qualification of Centre badge or above.
